After attending a portfolio review at an Industrial Design Society of America conference in New York City I was hired by Hyde Athletic Industries as a footwear designer. While it was not in my plans I quickly found myself a footwear designer.

The future of tennis - a vision for 1997

In 1989 Sport Style magazine commissioned Adidas to produce a concept for the future of tennis footwear. I was chosen as the designer to shape the vision. I imagined a shoe with cooling channels running throughout the shoe. I also imagined apparel that was more fitted than traditional tennis apparel and an asymmetrical racquet.
