academic research

At Carnegie Mellon University I teach an Interdisciplinary Project Course as part of the Entertainment Technology Center Masters Program. The course challenges a diverse team of students to produce working prototypes typically following a client brief or prescribed research track.

The research I instigate and promote in my role as Assistant Teaching Professor are grounded in two key areas:

  • Leveraging the three decades I spent innovating for human performance, bridging the physical and digital worlds to create experiences using state-of-the-art technology. This includes embedded experiences in electric mobility.

  • In line with CMUs Sustainability Initiative, translating the abstract ambitions of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals into tangible design solutions that address pressing global challenges.
