NuShu smart shoes provide real-time gait estimation and gentle haptic cues. Students designed a system that turns those signals into adjustable challenges aligned with clinical goals. Clinicians set targets, tune difficulty in seconds, and review clear session summaries. We combine game design, engineering, art, and user research to translate rehab goals into play.

The foundation for research is the Magnes AG Nushu which integrates clinical-grade gait analysis with intelligent haptic feedback making it able to detect hi-fidelity movement and immediately convert it into signals that prompt the brain with rhythmic vibrations, effectively serving as a digital bridge for damaged neural pathways. This technology makes it best-in-class for advanced physical therapy

Currently used to treat patients with Parkinson’s Disease, Magnes AGs NuShus contain sensors that detect movement patterns, speed, and balance, sending data to algorithms that trigger specific vibrations helping the wearer to “break the freeze” in their gait.
